Now let’s take a look at some of the happenings going on in our beautiful wintery town.
Christmas on Ice
When: December 3-January 6, 2016
Sunday through Thursday, 11 AM to 10 PM; Friday and Saturday, 11 AM to 11 PM
Where: 125 Santa Claus Lane, North Pole
This 6-week-long winter ice park is located right next to Santa Claus’ house in North Pole! There will be Christmas-themed ice art competition sculptures, ice slides, a maze, ice carving training and demonstrations, kids crafts and Elf’s Icy Playground. All month long, holiday-themed events will take place in the ice park, including an Amateur Carving Event, Junior Ice Carving Competition, Mayors Competition and New Year’s Eve Spectacular!
When: December 15, 2019 11am-5pm
Where: The Finish Line in La Quinta Inn
The Procrastinators’ Bazaar is your one-stop shop for goods and gifts, whether you’re treating yourself or whittling away at your gift list. Handmade clothing, jewelry, fiber goods, birch bark baskets, ceramics, body care products, forged items, paintings, pet presents, and much more will be offered by 20 local vendors and artisans!

Annual Alyeska Pipeline Celebration of Lights
When: December 19, 2015; 8 pm
Where: Downtown Fairbanks
The annual Celebration of Lights fireworks show will begin at 8 PM in downtown fairbanks and can be viewed from Golden Heart Plaza, Wood Centennial Bridge and Immaculate Conception Church. Fairbanks will come alive to celebrate the solstice with musical and artistic events held downtown.
Naughty and Ice
When: December 21, 2019 10am-4pm
Where: West Valley High School
Annual Handcrafted Market. Angels Farm, where you can find natural and organic soaps, cosmetics, farm fresh eggs, Alaskan Raw Honey and so much more.
Skate with Santa
When: December 22, 2019 1:30pm – 3:15pm
Where: Big Dipper Ice Arena
During this popular ice skating event, families will have an opportunity to hit the ice to holiday music and festive holiday decor. Santa and his elves will be on the ice skating alongside guests, and then all children will have the opportunity to give Santa their holiday wish list and take photos with him. Don’t forget your camera!
After skating, warm up at the hot cocoa and chocolate fondue station. More sweet surprises are in store!
