The Tanana Valley State Fair was founded July 7, 1924 and is the oldest fair in the state of Alaska. Us Alaskans, keeping traditions alive, brings some fun and entertainment our way every August. There are livestock activities daily, such as Horse shows, Farm Animal Scavenger Hunts, Dairy Goat Clinics, Showmanships and more.
Magic shows, Hypnosis comedy shows, Pirates- Live action Sword Fighting Adventures Comedy show, The Fearless Flores Family Thrill show, are all some of the daily entertainment that shouldn’t be missed.
August 6, 2019 is UAF day. Wear your UAF gear or show your PolarExpress card for $1 off fair admission.
Thursday August 8, 2019 is canned food day. LET’S CAN THE HUNGER!! Bring 4 (or more!) non-perishable, non-expired food items to the Tanana Valley State Fair on Thursday, August 8 from 12pm – 10pm and get ONE FAIR ADMISSION! All donations go to Fairbanks Community Food Bank.
Military Appreciation day is Friday August 9th.
